How TiviMate EPG Works
TiviMate's Electronic Program Guide (EPG) displays the TV schedule for each channel — show titles, descriptions, start and end times, ratings, and up to 14 days of upcoming programming. Without EPG, you see only a list of channel names with no guide information.
EPG data comes from an XMLTV feed — a structured XML file hosted by your IPTV provider. TiviMate fetches this file and maps the program data to your channels using tvg-id tags in your M3U playlist. When you use Xtream Codes login, this mapping happens automatically.
Quickest path to EPG: Add your playlist via Xtream Codes login (not M3U) and EPG populates automatically — no XMLTV URL needed. This is always the preferred method.
Method 1 — EPG via Xtream Codes (Automatic)
If you log in to TiviMate using Xtream Codes credentials, EPG is fetched automatically from the provider's API. No additional configuration needed:
- Add playlist via Xtream Codes login in TiviMateSettings → Playlists → Add Playlist → Xtream Codes
- Enter server URL, username, and passwordProvided by your IPTV service via WhatsApp
- Tap Add and wait 2–5 minutesTiviMate fetches channels AND EPG simultaneously from the Xtream API
- Open any channel — guide bar appears below the videoCurrent program and next few programs show automatically
Method 2 — EPG via XMLTV URL (M3U Playlists)
If your playlist is loaded as an M3U URL, you need to add the XMLTV EPG URL separately:
- Settings → Playlists → tap your playlist nameOpens the playlist detail screen
- Tap "EPG" or "EPG Source"Found in the playlist settings — below the M3U URL field
- Paste your XMLTV URLYour provider supplies this — it ends in /xmltv.php or /epg.xml
- Tap "Update" to fetch the EPG dataFirst load takes 3–8 minutes for a full 14-day guide
- Set "Update Automatically" to every 24 hoursKeeps the guide current without manual refreshes
- Verify in TV Guide view — channels should show program titlesPress the Guide button from any channel to check

Frequently Asked Questions
In TiviMate go to Settings → Playlists → select your playlist → EPG. Enter your XMLTV URL in the EPG Source field and tap Update. The guide populates in 2–5 minutes. For Xtream Codes logins, EPG is included automatically — no separate URL needed.
Common causes: no EPG URL added (for M3U playlists), incorrect XMLTV URL, EPG channel IDs don't match your M3U tvg-id values, or the EPG hasn't refreshed yet. For Xtream Codes, EPG loads automatically — if blank, the provider's EPG feed may be down.
Try these steps: 1) Verify your EPG URL is correct. 2) Go to Settings → Playlists → Update EPG. 3) Check that channel TVG-IDs in your M3U match the XMLTV channel IDs. 4) Clear TiviMate's EPG cache in Settings → EPG → Clear Cache, then re-fetch.
You can set TiviMate EPG auto-refresh in Settings → Playlists → [Playlist] → Update Automatically. Options are every 6, 12, or 24 hours. We recommend 24 hours — the guide is updated daily on the server side.
Yes — when you add a playlist via Xtream Codes login in TiviMate, the EPG is fetched automatically from the provider's API. No separate XMLTV URL is needed. The guide populates within minutes of adding the playlist.
