iOS Compatibility
iPhone
iPhone 6s+ running iOS 12 or later. iPhone 15 Pro supports 4K.
iPad
All iPad models (Air, Mini, Pro) running iPadOS 12+. Two-panel layout.
Apple TV
Cast via AirPlay from iPhone/iPad. No native tvOS app required.
Stream Format
Use output=m3u8 (HLS) — iOS does not support output=ts natively.
Step 1 — Install IPTV Smarters Pro on iPhone or iPad
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad
- Search for "IPTV Smarters Pro"
- Tap Get → authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or Apple ID password
- Wait for the app to install (typically 30–60 seconds)
- Tap Open or find the IPTV Smarters Pro icon on your home screen
Note: IPTV Smarters Pro is free on the App Store — do not pay for it. The only thing you pay for is your IPTV subscription from your provider.
Step 2 — Add Your IPTV to Smarters on iOS
Method A: Xtream Codes API (Recommended)
- Open IPTV Smarters Pro → tap "Add New User"
- Select "Xtream Codes API"
- Enter your Username, Password, and Server URL (from your provider's welcome email)
- Tap "Add User"
- Wait 30–60 seconds → EPG, channels, VOD, and series all load automatically
Method B: M3U URL
- Tap "Add New User" → select "Load Your Playlist or File/URL"
- Select "URL" → paste your M3U URL — ensure it contains output=m3u8 (iOS requires HLS)
- Give the profile a name → tap "Add User"
- For EPG: go to Settings → EPG → add your XMLTV URL → tap Get EPG
iOS-Specific Settings
| Setting | iOS Value | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Stream output format | output=m3u8 | iOS requires HLS — ts format causes black screens |
| Player engine | Default (AVPlayer) | Apple's AVPlayer handles HLS best on iOS |
| Background audio | Enabled | Allows audio to continue when screen locks |
| Allow cellular streaming | Wi-Fi preferred | HD streams use 3–8 GB/hr on cellular |
| Low Power Mode | Off during streaming | Low Power Mode throttles CPU and causes buffering |
| AirPlay quality | Original | Don't reduce quality — AirPlay handles HD natively |
How to AirPlay IPTV Smarters to Apple TV
- Make sure your iPhone/iPad and Apple TV are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Open IPTV Smarters Pro → start playing a channel
- Tap the AirPlay icon (rectangle with triangle) in the player controls
- Select your Apple TV from the device list
- The stream appears on your TV — control playback from your iPhone/iPad
Troubleshooting iOS Errors
| Problem | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Black screen on channel | Using output=ts on iOS | Change to output=m3u8 in M3U URL |
| Buffering on Wi-Fi | Weak signal or slow ISP | Move closer to router; test at 25+ Mbps |
| Buffering on cellular | Cellular not fast enough | Use Wi-Fi; 4G/5G works for SD only |
| App crashes on iOS 17 | Outdated app version | Update IPTV Smarters Pro in App Store |
| AirPlay disconnects | Different Wi-Fi networks | Ensure iPhone and Apple TV on same network |
| EPG not loading | No XMLTV URL added | Add XMLTV URL in Settings → EPG, or switch to Xtream Codes |

Use output=m3u8 (HLS) in your M3U URL. iOS requires HLS for playback. Xtream Codes API handles format automatically. Avoid output=ts on iOS — causes black screens.
Causes: weak Wi-Fi, wrong stream format (use m3u8), VLC player selected (switch to default AVPlayer), or too many channels. Test your internet at 25+ Mbps and move closer to your router.
Yes — fully compatible with all iPad models running iPadOS 12+. The app adapts with a two-panel layout: channel list left, player right. Setup identical to iPhone. AirPlay to Apple TV works on iPad too.
